Services: Greater Hanover Red Cross provides food pantry, and emergency social services to those in need

York Helping Hand

Services: York Helping Hand offers Drop off Center where the homeless to use toilet facilities, take a shower, receive meals and essential materials, establish a mailing address, use laundry facilities, obtain free medical attention and transportation if needed to the Hospital.

Bell Socialization Services, Inc.

Services: Bell Socialization Services provides 30-day emergency shelter serving homeless families; vocational training; life skills training; mental health services; mental retardation services; and Family and children support services.


Services: YWCA provides services for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault such as emergency shelter and transitional housing, 24 hour hot-line, counseling services, legal advocacy.

Services: YWCA Hanover provides shelter and social services for victims of domestic violence such as Emergency Shelter, 24 hour hotline, information and referrals, Legal Advocacy, counseling and support groups.

Changing Lives Homeless Shelter

Services: Hanover Area Council of Churches offers the Changing Lives Homeless Shelter which provides shelter, meals, case management, counseling and spiritual support, information and referrals.

Services: Skills of Central PA offers services to individuals with disabilities such as residential options (Community Homes, Community Habilitation Services and Lifesharing), vocational and rehabilitative services, adult day services, life skills training.

Community Services Group

Services: Services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses including residential services, employment services, adult day programs, outpatient treatment, peer support, and psychiatric rehabilitation. Northwestern Human Services

Services: NHS is a community-based, nonprofit, human services provider offering social services to individuals with mental, developmental and intellectual disabilities, individuals dealing with addiction, seniors and juveniles. Residential services for individuals with mental, developmental and intellectual disabilities include Community Homes, Life Sharing, Transitional Housing, Supported Living

Recovery House at Sees the Day

Services: Sees the Day offers the Recovery House which is transitional housing for both men and women recovering from alcohol and drug addiction. Residents are required to attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings (90 in 90 days). They are also required to maintain employment or perform 25 hours of community service each week.

National Runaway Switchboard

Services: Toll-free, nationwide hot-line for runaways and troubled youth. Provides information and referral for shelter, counseling, medical and legal services and transportation back home. The hot-line also provides a personal and confidential message relay service between runaways and their families.
